The Battle for Maine

You might want to read up on the current battle raging in Maine over the legislature's repeated attempts to write perversion into their laws, over the express wish of the voters. A special vote is coming up on November 8 to repeal a recently enacted bill which purports to protect certain citizens from discrimination. But protecting "sexual orientation and sexual expression" will play out in a very destructive way.

The excerpts below explain what's really at stake. It's also obvious that if the current Maine law stands, sodomitic and lesbian "marriage" will be the next demand of the queer activists. After all, the law says "no discrimination", and "sexual expression" could include the need to be "married".

From the
Maine Coalition for Marriage site:

If sexual orientation is added to Maine's legal code it will start the implementation of policies that discriminate against people with traditional views of morality.

Sexual orientation is often taken to mean homosexuality, however, the two words constitute an umbrella term for numerous sexual behaviors. If Maine society rewards homosexual behavior, more young people will experiment and other sexual orientations and abhorrent sexual behaviors will be normalized. Maine society has an obligation to institute policies that promote the health and well-being of its citizens.

One problem in codifying sexual orientation is that unlike sex or race, gender identity, perception or expression has no concrete limits. In effect, this kind of provision in regard to employment eliminates at-will employment. Anyone who is terminated without cause can attribute the termination to gender identity, perception or expression.

Are you willing to sit by while our Legislature and ultra-liberal Governor say that all forms of sexual deviance are welcome everywhere in Maine no matter how bizarre? Are you willing to sit by, while the Boy Scouts are labeled as haters, and cross-dressers, nudists, and pedophiles are praised as heroes? Are you willing to see the words FATHER and HUSBAND written out of the law as hateful and bigoted, as has already happened in Canada?

The hidden agenda is the normalization of homosexuality in the public schools through books such as “Heather has Two Mommies” and “Daddy Has a Roommate”. Every child deserves a healthy and safe environment at school. Sexual deviance has no place in a school system that is already falling way behind in the teaching of basic subjects. The classroom is not a place to experiment with a redefinition of marriage and the family. Under the current law, a pedophile cannot be barred from a job as a public school teacher on the basis of his sexual orientation.

The Christian Civic League of Maine also puts out a daily alert. Wednesday's picks up on a piece by Rich Lowry (editor of National Review) which correctly links radical feminism with the sexual free-for-all we now find ourselves in.

COLUMNIST CLAIMS FEMINISTS HAVE UNLEASHED ‘RAUNCH CULTURE’, by Fritz Spencer

A recent column by
Rich Lowry claims that feminism has been one of the principal forces which have “unleashed raunch culture” on our society. Lowry says that feminists have contributed to the vulgarization of our society by insisting that women act like men, thus turning women into mere objects – which is nearly the point the Christian Civic League has been trying to make all along.

The current push for gay rights and same-sex marriage would have been unthinkable in early times, when the sanctity of the home was honored and respected. “Gay rights” and “gay marriage” can only be understood in the context of an ever-worsening climate of sexual permissiveness, which includes a toleration of pornography which would have been unthinkable a generation ago.

If homosexual practices are tolerated, or worse yet, put on a par with marriage, radicals will seek the approval of society for even worse forms of sexual deviance. Many on the left are now advocating that marriage be replaced by legal unions between three or more people, in arrangements called “polyamory” or “polyfidelity.” At a recent speech by Mike Heath at Bowdoin College, one student stood up and identified himself as a “polyamourous socialist.”

If one unwritten, universal law – that is the natural law which prohibits sodomy – can be replaced on the basis of an appeal to “rights” and “equality” why not all other natural laws pertaining to sexual morality? The only possible outcome from the overthrow of all laws pertaining to sexual morality, is the death of the institution of the family.

Hmm...This Is News?

"Consensus Growing that Homosexuality is at Root of Priest Sexual Abuse Scandal", reports LifeSiteNews. This is not a surprise, but few in the MSM have dealt with this obvious fact. Some excerpts:

September 29: The release of the Grand Jury Report on the sexual abuse of minors by clergy in the Philadelphia Diocese highlights the danger of having homosexuals serving in the ministry, a pro-family group said today.

The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) reviewed the over 400-page report and found that of the 28 'Selected Case Studies" listed in the report the victims of 23 priests were males ranging in age from 11-18 and the victims of two priests were both male and female. This review also reveals the efforts by media to downplay the overall presence of male victims and concentrate on the three priests whose victims were strictly female and the two that victimized both male and female teens....

Rod Dreher, editor of National Review Online writes: "Dr. Richard Fitzgibbons, an eminent Catholic psychiatrist who has treated scores of victims and priest-perpetrators, says 90% of his patients were either teen male victims or priests, or priests who abused teen boys." Because the victims are teenagers, this shows that the issue is not one of pedophilia as much as it is one of homosexuality.

Father Donald Cozzens, an author, psychologist, and Catholic seminary president says that there is such a high percentage of gay priests in the church that he is concerned that "the priesthood is or is becoming a gay profession."

A 2004 survey by John Jay College of Criminal Justice found that, of 10,667 individuals abused by priests between 1950 and 2002, 81 percent were male.

Dangers of "Hate Crimes" Legislation

Robert Knight of Concerned Women for America has written the best summary of the dangers of the so-called "hate crimes legislation" we've seen. It is clear that such legislation is only intended as a tool for silencing all opposition to the homosexual agenda. Too bad so many of our Congressmen are clueless. Excerpts:

"Hate crime" laws pose a danger to civil liberties in three ways:
They pave the way for suppression of the freedoms of speech, association and religion.
They violate the concept of equal protection under the law.
They introduce the un-American concept of "thought crime," in which someone's actions are "more" illegal based on their thoughts or beliefs....

A grandmother walking down the street should have at least as much protection under the law as someone who is leaving a "gay" bar. But under "hate crimes" laws that include "sexual orientation," the same assault would be punished with greater penalties if the victim were perceived as homosexual.

There is no evidence that victims of "hate crimes" are receiving any less protection than victims of other crimes. To suggest otherwise insults the men and women of the nation's law enforcement community.

Homosexual activists often exaggerate the incidence of "hate crimes," which make up less than 1 percent of all crimes. Over the past several years, even with more law enforcement agencies reporting, the number of "hate crimes" based on "sexual orientation" has dropped....

Liberal activists increasingly invoke such phrases as "hostile speech" and a "climate of violence" to describe pro-family opinion on homosexual issues. The net effect is to reclassify legitimate opinion and free speech as "hate speech" that can be censored....

As the definition of "hate crimes" expands, practitioners of traditional religion and those who support policies favoring the traditional family increasingly will face legal sanctions.... Will recognition of marriage someday be a "hate crime" in America? Yes, if "hate crime" laws continue to be enacted by well-meaning but misinformed legislators.

Two Daddies, One Baby, No Mommy!

Our friend John has alerted us to the latest unnatural buzz in the LBGTQIP "parenting" community. Surely the spawn of the genetic-engineering experimenters of the ugly past (you know who we mean), queer activists and their mad scientist allies think that two daddies can now make their own baby -- without the contamination of a woman's DNA. And two mommies who just hate the thought of a man defiling them can now imagine a baby unpolluted by male cooties.

John asks why the Massachusetts homosexual "marriage" justices ignored the issue of same-sex couples' procreation "rights". For more, see his website, eggandsperm.org, "dedicated to enacting the proposal by the President's Council on Bioethics that Congress should "prohibit attempts to conceive a child by any means other than the union of egg and sperm."

Here are excerpts from this disturbing article, "Science’s Hope of Two Genetic Dads: Stem cell research could soon enable both partners in gay, lesbian couples to pitch in," in Gay City News (Sept. 8-14, 2005):

Gay and lesbian couples may one day be able to have children that share both of their genetic make up. On June 20, at the annual conference of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) in Copenhagen, scientists announced a development in stem cell research that could allow gay couples to have children that share both of their genetic make-up, instead of just one partner sharing a genetic link.

Researchers discovered that they could develop primordial germ cells (PGC) from embryonic stem cells. Stem cells are the master cells of the body, appearing when embryos are just a few days old and developing into every type of cell and tissue in the body, including sperm and eggs.

PCGs [thought it was PGC?] are present during the fetal stage and then develop into either sperm or eggs. By gaining the ability to engineer changes in the PCGs [sic], scientists could develop an egg from the PCGs [sic] of a man wishing to pair his genetic material with his partner’s sperm. Similarly, a woman’s PCG [sic] could be developed into sperm cells that could be used to fertilize her partner’s eggs. In either case, a unique embryo could then naturally form with the genetics of both same-sex partners.

The technique, announced at ESHRE in June, was discovered by scientists at the University of Sheffield in England. However, research on this is being done all over the world.

"Human Rights Campaign" in Boston

The so-called "Human Rights Campaign" is busy in Boston! Tonight there's a Harvard-sponsored forum at the Kennedy School: "Being Young & Gay in America". Well, we know Harvard abandoned critical thinking decades ago, so we're not surprised to see this.

And a gala, festive event not to be missed is the 24th annual (yes, they got quite a head start on us!) "Human Rights Campaign" fundraiser dinner. You can go for only $200 a plate! (The circles we travel in only charge $30-$50 a plat. Shows how well-off this repressed minority really is...)

The dinner's theme is "Leading the way: Ensuring that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender [what happened to Questioning, Intersex, and Polyamorous?? -- dare we charge discrimination, or at the least, insensitivity?] Americans can be open, honest, and safe at home, at work, and in the community."

"...the largest annual LGBT event in New England is a night to remember. Your support is critical - especially in the historic and challenging times we find ourselves in these days." Marty Rouse, Campaign Director of MassEquality, is receiving a special award for knowing how to throw really great parties in the State House.

Corporate sponsors of the dinner include:
Accenture, Corners, Cingular, Comcast, CVS Pharmacy, Ernst & Young, Evergreen Investments, Gillette, Kimpton Hotels, Mellon New England, Pride Mortgage, Saab Nashua North, SBC Communications, Staples, Verizon.

Oregon Marriage Amendment Challenged in Courts

Why anyone would still think that marriage amendments will halt the assault on traditional marriage is beyond us. Focus on the Family's Citizen Link (and AP) reported yesterday that queer activists are bringing a court challenge to Oregon's voter-approved amendment to their state constitution (which defined marriage as between one man and one woman):

Oregon Court Considers Gay Marriage

The issue of Oregon's law banning same-sex marriage went to court today, as homosexual advocates challenged the law, The Associated Press reported.

Marion County Circuit Judge Joseph Guimond was to hear arguments that the state's voter-approved constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman is unconstitutional.

Basic Rights Oregon, the homosexual advocacy group that filed the lawsuit, is arguing that the law affects multiple rights, violating a state law that restricts numerous changes on one ballot measure.

Supporters say the one-sentence change to the constitution is straightforward, stating that the only marriages recognized in the state will be those between one man and one woman.
Tim Nashif, political director of the Oregon Family Council, said the amendment was simpler and clearer than amendments passed in other states.

"It appears they're searching for a judge who will overturn the measure for them," Nashif said. The court battle is expected to take at least two years and to ultimately wind up before the state Supreme Court.

Celebrating Diversity? Or a Public Health Crisis?

We thought the Boston Globe just blindly "celebrated diversity", but today the business section reports, "Sex drugs called avenue to HIV; misuse of sex drugs studied." Now what group do you suppose is misusing Viagra and contributing to the spread of AIDS?

Yes, even the Globe has to deal with the reality that it's homosexual men involved here. While Pfizer Inc., manufacturer of Viagra, publishes "safe sex" information, it is "more tailored to the general population than to gay men who have high-risk sex." The Globe admitting that homosexual male sex is "high risk"? Wow. (Should we keep celebrating diversity?)

The problem is seen especially in the PNP ("party and play") set. First they pop crystal methamphetamine, which reduces their inhibitions, but also is a downer for you-know-what. So to regain "their ability to have sex," the PNP set next pops Viagra. "That worries public health officials who say the drug combination promotes risky, unprotected sex with multiple partners." And the drugs together "are also potentially deadly."

According to the Globe, ED dysfunction drugs
"might be contributing to the transmission of HIV and other diseases." Oh really? Here we must disagree with the Globe. We think the problem is the behavior of the person taking the drugs, not the drugs.

Excerpts from the Globe article:

WASHINGTON -- Richard Gallo's experience is shared by thousands of men who sometimes find other men through e-mail messages that read: ''Do you want to PNP?" It stands for ''party and play." To party, they take crystal methamphetamine, which reduces inhibitions but also their ability to have sex. To play, they pop Viagra at the same time. Gallo, a 28-year-old Boston resident, said he had many such sexual encounters.

That worries public health officials who say the drug combination promotes risky, unprotected sex with multiple partners....

In cities across the nation, including Boston, reports of new cases of sexually transmitted diseases between men are on the rise. One reason, some health officials say, is the misuse of Viagra.

Dr. Jeffrey D. Klausner of the San Francisco Department of Public Health said that city was poised to eliminate syphilis in 2000. Now, there are thousands of new cases. He said gay men seeking treatment for sexually transmitted diseases report an average of 18 partners in the prior two months.

His research also links erectile dysfunction drugs with risky sexual behavior and an increase in sexually transmitted diseases in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. Klausner said drug companies should curb free samples and limit refills of erectile dysfunction drugs, which are used by more than 20 million American men.

Keeping Current: It's Now "LGBTQIP etc."

We' e been reading some oldies on the web, and couldn't help noticing how the queer activist acronym keeps growing.

Back in 2003 (when Carl Sciortino and his queer boyfriends disrupted Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, where they held hands, kissed, hugged, demanded sodomitic unions be blessed by God, etc.) ... well, back then, QueerToday's website referred to their movement as just "LGBT".

Now in 2005, only two years later,

"QueerToday.com represents the queer voice of the gay liberation movement. We advocate for equality for all LGBTQIP...etc. people."

Could our queer readers please inform us what the "P" stands for? Could it possibly have to do with the subject of our last posting? Maybe P is just for generalized Perversion, so it will cover whatever they think of next and they won't have to add another letter? (We don't want to imagine what that "etc." might include.)

(We understand that T was for transgender, but then sometimes also transsexual as sex-reassignment surgery started being covered by health insurance. Then we found out that even the queers are confused, so they've started saying T stands just for "trans". We think Q means "questioning", and I is "intersex".)

It seems the descent into this filthy whirlpool of depravity is swirling faster than they can handle ...

These are the people planning a huge demonstration against "Love Won Out" , the ex-gay ministry seminar planned for October 29 in Boston.

Heather Has Two Mommies AND Two Daddies in Massachusetts!

We've warned you that polygamy, or group marriage, or polyamory -- whatever term you prefer -- is next! To use the "logic" of Empress Margaret Marshall (from her ruling on homosexual "marriage"), if it's not rational to limit marriage to just a man and a woman, why is it rational to limit marriage to just a man and a man? Why not throw in a couple of women, too?

Check out this prominent advertisement from the Boston queer newspaper, Bay Windows:

[Bay Windows, September 15, p. 9 in print ed.]

Now, according to the Lexington School Superintendent (and, he says, the Mass. Department of Education), Massachusetts schools will have to teach this alternative family profile to elementary school students (without parental notification). After all, it's reality. We can't let children from this family grow up in a community that doesn't approve of their "alternative family" configuration. We wouldn't want this family to be hurt by those in the community who are so Stone-Age, so homophobic, and so fascistic as to think that there's anything wrong with it!

As you read the nonsense from Lexington below, bear in mind that the terms "sexual orientation" and "diversity" are NEVER really defined, by Massachusetts law, by the Department of Education, or even by the queer activists! So we see no reason this parenting group of four wouldn't be covered.

From Lexington School Supt. Ash's letter (to the Lexington Minuteman, 9-22-05):

Recently, questions have been raised as to whether school staff also has an obligation to notify parents and allow "opt out" of other school-based activities, particularly in the elementary grades. For example, some parents have requested they be notified whenever their child has access to any material, conversation, or activity that acknowledges differences in sexual orientation, including any reference to families with same-gender parents.

Since elementary curriculum often elicits discussion of family experiences, such references certainly may occur. In addition, our schools routinely provide students with access to materials, activities, and discussions that recognize diversity. This access is designed to assist us in our goal of maintaining an appropriate and respectful educational environment for all students. As required by law and LPS policy, this environment must be free of discrimination based on race, gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin and disability.

The Massachusetts Department of Education, which is responsible for administering Section 32A [Parental Notification Act], has explained that activities and materials designed to promote tolerance and respect for individuals, including recognition of differences in sexual orientation "without further instruction on the physical and sexual implications" do not trigger the notice and opt out provisions of Section 32A. Under this standard, staff has no obligation to notify parents of discussions, activities, or materials that simply reference same-gender parents or that otherwise recognize the existence of differences in sexual orientation. Accordingly, I expect teachers to continue to allow children access to such activities and materials to the extent appropriate to children's ages, to district goals of respecting diversity, and to the curriculum.

Federal "Hate Crimes" Bill Extends to Transgenders

More trouble is on the way. The U.S. House of Representatives surprised everyone by passing a "hate crimes" bill last week, which will go on to the Senate in a few weeks (where it is expected to pass). It was sneakily attached to a bill protecting children from sexual predators. (Let's hope the President has the sense to veto it, and give the House members time to wake up.)

Rep. Barney Frank expressed his surprise that this bill passed the House. Was the stealth tactic the reason? Unclear. Bay Windows reports:

The passage of the Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005 surprised even Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank, one of its cosponsors. The openly gay Newton Democrat said he was initially doubtful about the plan by Michigan Democratic Rep. John Conyers, the bill's lead sponsor, to attach the bill as an amendment to the Children's Safety Act, which strengthens laws against child molesters.

"We didn't really have a chance to vet it with the Republicans and I was frankly afraid it was going to do more harm than good," Frank explained. "I have to confess, I was wrong," he said. Frank spoke in favor of the bill on the House floor, making sure to clarify that, unlike previous versions of the legislation, it explicitly included protections for transgender people. "We didn't want people saying, 'Oh you tricked us we didn't know this,' because that was the one change from last year,'" he said. "That vote went after we had made it clear to people that transgendered people were covered."

While legislators who heard Frank may not have been fooled about the inclusion of transgenders, it's not at all clear that all who voted for the bill protecting children knew this nonsense was attached to it!

This bill is dangerous for many reasons. How absurd to declare the same crime can be more or less serious, depending on who the victim is. This legislation prepares the way for future threats to our freedom of speech and religious beliefs relating to homosexuality and transsexuality. See Traditional Values Coalition's detailed report, Stealth Homosexual ‘Hate Crimes’ Bill Passes House Of Representatives (excerpts):

[T]he hate crimes law will add “sexual orientation,” “gender,” and “gender identity” to federally protected categories. “Gender identity” is code for transgenders (individuals who think they are the opposite sex, cross-dressers, or drag queens.)

If passed, this legislation will provide federal protection for homosexual behavior, placing anal intercourse on a par with race or religion. It will also be used to normalize drag queens, cross-dressers, transsexuals, and she/males (individuals who choose to remain female from the waist up and male from the waist down with the help of hormones).

This legislation will “federalize” every crime involving homosexuals and so-called transgendered individuals. It will strip local law enforcement officials of the right to prosecute what are essentially state or community criminal issues.

This bill will also deny individuals equal justice under the law. An individual who commits a crime against an elderly woman will get a less serious prison sentence than if the victim is a cross-dresser or homosexual. This is unfair and denies all individuals equal protection under the law.

In addition, the whole concept of hate crimes is misleading. Every violent crime is an expression of hate against an individual. There is no such thing as a “love” crime of violence. Liberals call these “hate crimes,” but what they really want to do is penalize people for their thoughts, which will ultimately prove dangerous to pastors, religious leaders, therapists, and many others.

This legislation will set the stage for criminalizing any speech considered to be “hate” against homosexuals, cross-dressers, or transsexuals.

Judicial Activism Defined

Here's a good definition of judicial activism:

"If Americans loved judicial activism, liberals wouldn't be lying about what it is. Judicial activism means making up constitutional rights in order to strike down laws the justices don't like based on their personal preferences. It's not judicial activism to strike down laws because they violate the Constitution." -- Ann Coulter

How Many "Gay" Clubs in Mass. High Schools?

How many "Gay-Straight Alliances" are there in Massachusetts high schools? It's hard to know. But since we taxpayers are supporting them, through our wise legislators and the "Governor's Commission on Gay & Lesbian Youth", we should be able to get an answer.

Of course, MassResistance believes one club promoting sexual perversion is too many. But we have to deal with the ugly reality.

The list we posted a few days back, compiled from GLSLEN's website and PFLAG's report on the "Youth Pride 2005" parade, yields 200 clubs. But a recent Bay Windows report says 110. "Since [2002] the number of active GSAs around the state has stayed fairly constant at about 110, with a few new ones popping up each year and a few others folding."

Maybe we can find out from:

Opt-Out Forms: Protect Your Children

Protect your children from misinformation and propaganda in our schools on sexuality and homosexuality issues. Here's an opt-out form, which can be used around the country, from Abiding Truth Ministries.

Remember, parental rights in this area are protected by Massachusetts law -- but parents must assert their rights forcefully! See MGL Chapter 71: Section 32A, "Sex education; policy regarding notice to parents, exception:"

Section 32A. Every city, town, regional school district or vocational school district implementing or maintaining curriculum which primarily involves human sexual education or human sexuality issues shall adopt a policy ensuring parental/guardian notification. Such policy shall afford parents or guardians the flexibility to exempt their children from any portion of said curriculum through written notification to the school principal. No child so exempted shall be penalized by reason of such exemption.

No [Further] Comment

The Secretary of the Commonwealth, William Francis Galvin, has released the VoteOnMarriage.org initiative petition for signatures. His official SUMMARY at the top of the petition form reads:

This proposed constitutional amendment would require the state and local and county governments to license and recognize only those marriages that are between a man and a woman. It would prohibit future same-sex marriages, but would allow continued recognition of those entered into before the adoption of the proposed amendment.

List of "Gay-Straight Alliances" in Mass. & U.S. High Schools

GLSEN publishes a useful list of "gay-straight alliance clubs" in high schools across America. Don't think it's not being pushed in your town...

And for our in-state readers, below is a list of GSA's in Massachusetts. For photos of some of these children on parade, see PFLAG's "Youth Pride 2005" page. A few other GSA's appeared on PFLAG's website which we've added to GLSEN's list. This list is still probably incomplete, and does not include regional "gay and lesbian youth" organizations such as BAGLY, SWAGLY (Worcester), SSHAGLY (South Shore), Holyoke Youth Pride, Out Now Queer Youth of Springfield, etc.

"Anti-Bullying" and the Homosexual Agenda

Openly "gay" state senator Jarrett Barrios of Cambridge (in a sodomite "marriage" with Democrat political consultant Doug Hattaway) is behind another homosexual propaganda vehicle, cleverly disguised as legislation to "stop bullying in our schools." (No, we'll never forget those days when we used to hide out in the restroom at lunchtime because the other kids made fun of our hand-me-down clothing. But we learned a lot from that, and we did get over it.)

The Boston Globe reported a few days ago that "Teens, lawmakers push antibully bill; Measure would force schools to help protect the vulnerable." :

"Called the Safe Schools Act, the proposed legislation would require schools statewide to enact strict policies to prevent bullying. ''Teachers don't do enough sometimes,' [student] Lopez testified before the Joint Education Committee. 'Sometimes they just acted like it wasn't their business.'

"Proposed by Senator Jarrett T. Barrios, a Cambridge Democrat, the measure would require schools statewide to formalize policies for detecting bullying and meting out punishment. The bill would also call for schools to designate one staff member to implement the plan, which Barrios said would be enforced by the state Department of Education."

A friend of MassResistance comments:

It's pretty obvious what is really going on here. Just look at who is pushing it. The final bill will surely mention something about sexual orientation and gender identity.

After it is passed (and not before), someone will claim: "My child is being teased because he/she has two mothers and no father." "Heather has Two Mommies" etc. must be made mandatory reading for all kindergarten kids so they will understand this a perfectly normal situation....

A boy, who considers himself a girl, will wear a dress to school (just to assert "her" civil rights) and "hurtful" comments will be heard (or made up).

You know the routine.

A Google check on "GLSEN + bullying" confirms that this is indeed a new strategic ploy by the radical gays to have even more opportunities to force their viewpoint on helpless schoolchildren, and intimidate any parents who might object to perversion in the schools. For instance, our favorite local "gay" rag, Bay Windows, reported in 2002:

GLSEN changes focus toward rampant in-school bullying, by Peter Cassels, 6-13-02:

For the next three years, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) will focus all of its energies on making bullying a thing of the past in America's schools. Building on the success in the seven years since its founding in such activities as forming gay-straight alliances (GSAs) in high schools, GLSEN announced June 4 that its board of directors has adopted a strategic plan to involve hundreds of teachers, students, parents, allied organizations such as teachers unions and grassroots leaders. The plan goes into effect July 1.

The organization's new direction was prompted, officials say, by the results of its 2001 National School Climate Survey (NSCS). The only national study of LGBT students' high school experiences, the survey found that 84 percent of them routinely hear anti-gay comments like "faggot" and "dyke" at school. Further, 82 percent reported that teachers and staff "never" or only "sometimes" intervene when they witness the use of such language. More than eight out of 10 LGBT high school students eventually experience verbal, physical or sexual harassment at school, the survey found. In a statement, GLSEN Executive Director Kevin Jennings called its three-year plan to target bullying, name-calling and harassment of LGBT students "a defining moment for the safe schools movement in America."

Besides striving to make bullying unacceptable, GLSEN will urge educators to create schools in which every student, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can fully participate in academic and extracurricular activities and will work to see that the federal government's education agenda includes LGBT issues.

More on Unitarians and Queer Intimidation Tactics

We've been thinking a lot about the Constitutional Convention at the State House last Wednesday (Sept. 14). For one thing, how strong the Unitarian-Universalist (UU) connection is with the homosexualist legislators. The beautiful New England UU headquarters building is immediately adjacent to the Mass. capitol (on the left as you face the buildings). How convenient for lobbying.

Many of the Irish- and Italian-heritage, and nominally-Catholic legislators go right along with the Christ-denying, anything-goes UUs. (Isn't this apostasy?) And after the homosexual priest sex-abuse scandal in the Catholic Church, the Mass. Catholic Conference has lost much of its power to sway the Catholic legislators. But it's still an amazing thing.

Anyhow, Bay Windows reported that at the ConCon, the UU HQ was a meeting place for the most radical homosexualist legislators. (For some reason, this hour-by-hour report from that day does not show up on BW's website any more; but we've kept the link here for you.)

10:40 a.m. -- Legislators and advocates are heading over to the Unitarian Universalist Association headquarters at 25 Beacon Street to meet before the ConCon. State reps. Byron Rushing of the South End, Alice Wolf of Cambridge, Ed Augustus of Worcester and Linda Dorcena Forry, who won a hotly contested special election to replace retired state rep. and former House Speaker Tom Finneran, as well as state sen. Jarrett Barrios filed into the building.

2:44 p.m. --Earlier, South End state rep. Byron Rushing addressed the ConCon and quoted Martin Luther King, Jr., (who apparently was quoting Unitarian Universalist Theodore Parker) saying that, "The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice." He added, "Today we are bending that arc toward justice."

Another striking thing about that day was the rowdiness of the queer activist crowd, both inside and outside the State House. A few other passages from this now-missing report reveal that they are not as polite as the media likes to pretend. And they're very skilled at intimidation and harassment. (Maybe this is why the report is not onlilne any longer?)

11:25 a.m. -- The anti-gay marriage forces have arrived! All four of them! The crew is lead [sic] by Article 8 Alliance founder Brian Camenker. They've staked out space at the corner of Beacon and Park streets where two of them are holding a banner that reads "END GAY MARRIAGE REMOVE MARSHALL." One of the sign holders, who declined to give her name said that the group was "on the same side" as the marriage equality activists in that they wanted to see the amendment defeated. "We're not interested in amendments, actually. What we want is to get rid of the judges." As she spoke, a man behind her [i.e., harassing] holding a STOP DISCRIMINATION IN THE CONSTITUTION sign said, "It's very sad that you're against my civil rights." The woman replied, "I've already said I'm not against your civil rights." She later added that she received a lot of harassment for her views. "I don't like harassment and our side gets plenty of harassment from your side," she said, noting that her own child had been harassed at school. "We're tired of [it]."

12:20 p.m. -- [In the Great Hall] A few MassEquality volunteers lead [sic] the marriage equality proponents in song: "We Shall Overcome," "God Bless America" and "We Shall Not Be Moved." As they sang, a group of about 25 anti-same-sex marriage in two concentric prayer circles at the back of the room began singing "Amazing Grace." As both groups sang, it became something of a sing-off out of a Saturday Night Live skit. But then, contrary to the spirit of what Rouse had urged earlier, a large group of marriage equality proponents marched to the back of the room and surrounded the anti-gay marriage protesters and began singing "God Bless America." They were joined by the anti-gay forces. But it wasn't a Kumbyah [sic] moment. Those in the middle of the circle looked scared. A park ranger finally ordered the groups to separate.

Noon -- The crowd outside the State House continues to grow and is getting rowdier with its response to honking motorists. Two men in one car honked and pulled over to share a kiss. They were swarmed with pro-equality demonstrators who plastered the two in MassEquality stickers. A tall transgender wearing a short gold skirt and leopard print top carried a neon orange sign reading EVERYONE A COMBO OF M/F SO . . . ALL MARRIAGES ARE SAME-SEX; as she [sic] made her way through the crowd, she [sic] was warmly received.

10:20 a.m. -- The pro-equality crowd outside the State House is made up mostly of young people. Posters read "STOP DISCRIMINATION IN THE CONSTITUTION: and "YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW THY NEIGHBOR," in reference to the controversial Web site that will publish the names of those who sign a petition to put a question before voters in 2008 that would amend the state Constitution to ban same-sex couples from marrying.

"Gay" Days at "The Big E" and Six Flags This Weekend

"Out In the Park" takes place this weekend in the Springfield area. We don't want western Massachusetts to feel left out of all the debauchery.

First, on Saturday, Sept. 17 it's the 6th annual "Out on the Farm" day at The Big E fair in West Springfield. "Be seen, Wear red!" (We hope not to read any follow-up stories in the newspaper about fatal accidents involving horses.)
Contact: Eastern States Exposition, 1305 Memorial Avenue, West Springfield, MA 01089; 413-737-2443; fax 413-787-0127; email comments info@thebige.com

Then, on Sunday, Sept. 18 it's the 9th annual "Out in the Park" day at Six Flags New England amusement park. "Be seen, Wear red!"
Contact: Six Flags New England, 1305 Memorial Ave., West Springfield, MA 01089; 413-737-2443; corporate HQ: Six Flags America, 301-249-1500.

"Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning, Intersexed Brothers, Sisters, Friends and Families: For the past 8 years Out In The Park has been a huge success with over 1000 GLBT attendees for the first year in 1997! Each year it gets harder and harder to count everyone, as there are simply so many of us! In 2003, we counted between 2500-3000! There were probably a lot more. In 2004 estimates were between 5,000 to 7,000+. For 2005, who knows how many? We are are anticipating over 10,000! This has been a major event for the GLBT community for the past 8 years. You don't want to miss it! It's more fun than a Gay Pride Parade! We're here, we're queer and we're going have the time of our lives!"

Not to be outdone, King Richard's Faire in Carver will host "Out in the Court" on October 8, to coincide with "national coming-out day" on October 11. "Be seen, Wear purple!" There will be a special feature: the "Men in Tights" contest. Don't miss it!
Contact: 508-866-5391

Hard to believe this stuff has been going on under our noses for so long ... with the parks' knowledge and blessing...and discount tickets! There is seemingly no end to corporate complicity and cowardice. Or our apathy.

These "Ministers" Oppose Freedom of Religion

MassResistance noted a stream of pro-gay-"marriage" legislators flowing from the Unitarian Universalist HQ on Beacon Street (right next to the State House!), as the Constitutional Convention was about to get underway yesterday. As these misguided souls walked through the rowdy queer activists in front of the State House (no, the demonstrators' demeanor was anything but calm or mature), the reps clearly reveled in their acclamation.

We also observed several "ministers" in the crowd (you know: clerical collars, accessorized with rainbow silks). "God loves you, no matter what you do!"

And we remembered that the Unitarian Universalists were not only the first to recognize unnatural sex as a basis for "marriage"... They are also pushing group "marriage" or "polyamory". (You can't be "progressive" unless you keep moving to the next new thing.) Yes, polygamy is next. How can we deny these loving groups their happiness? On what rational basis can we say they cannot marry?

And today we read in Bay Windows reports that a group of pro-gay-"marriage" clergy protested an ex-gay program scheduled at Tremont Temple Baptist Church on October 29. Funny, we can't think of examples of conservative clergy protesting outside other churches, whether Unitarian, Episcopalian, or a synagogue, over those congregations' views on homosexuality, abortion, or whatever.

What is going on here? Clearly, while these phony "clergy" say they believe in protecting the rights of minorities, they don't seem to care about the conservative religious views they claim are the minority in Massachusetts:

When Focus on the Family came to Boston Sept. 8 to preview its upcoming ex-gay conference, Love Won Out, at Tremont Temple Baptist Church, the clergy of the Religious Coalition for the Freedom to Marry (RCFM) refused to let the event go unnoticed. About 20 protestors, many of them religious leaders wearing their religious garments, gathered on the sidewalk in front of the church to argue that Focus on the Family and Love Won Out do not represent the values of the majority of people of faith in the Commonwealth.

"[Focus on the Family] are a minority of people in this community. They do not represent a majority of people in this community. They come from out of state," said RCFM director Rabbi Devon Lerner.... That morning Focus on the Family held an invitation-only clergy breakfast for about 200 clergy to preview Love Won Out, which will be held at Tremont Temple Baptist Church October 29.

Their goal is clear. To silence all opposition to the homosexual and transsexual agenda, even in our churches.

You Can't Placate the Monster

When will pro-family groups learn that they can't placate the monster? The Globe reported this morning that "Opponents tout plans to extend rights to gays."

Same-sex marriage opponents said yesterday that they will file legislation providing hospital visitation and other rights to gay couples that would be offered even if the state enacts a proposed ban on same-sex marriage.

That means that the pro-family groups pushing the new marriage amendment have offered a sop to the queer activists. Did they really think this would satisfy them, or get them to back off even an inch? It's already clear that the dark side smells weakness. Arline Isaacson, chief running-shoe-attired lobbyist for the homosexual agenda, called the proposed benefits legislation a "sham"...

... an attempt by opponents of same-sex marriage ''to make themselves look less mean-spirited, but they know, like we know, that the only way to access the 1,400 legal protections under legal marriage is with a marriage license. There is no other way."

Supporters of same-sex marriage, she said, are focused on preserving those legal protections. ''And we won't be distracted by their silly proposal for these other few rights instead of that," she said.

It is not true, as the Globe says, that VoteOnMarriage's opposition to the Travaglini-Lees compromise amendment (voted down today) was in part "because it would allow civil unions." That amendment would have created and institutionalized civil unions.

We're not exactly sure what VoteOnMarriage's position is on civil unions anyhow, since their newly proposed marriage amendment does not include a provision banning civil unions (as many state marriage amendments do) -- and they surely know the Mass. Legislature will not hesitate to push such legislation. If VoteOnMarriage was against civil unions at the Constitutional Convention today, why doesn't their new amendment language include a ban on them?

Where Do You Fall on the "Homophobia" Scale?

Diversity, tolerance, acceptance -- what do they mean? Our friend Susan writes, "In case you thought tolerance and acceptance were OK, read on.... This proves that more is wanted than 'tolerance and acceptance.' " GLBTQI's want to be recognized as "indispensable in our society, and viewed by straights "with genuine affection and delight."

Western Illinois University's Committee on Sexual Orientation uses the absurd definitions below by a psychologist named Riddle. Will 90% of Americans -- those who ascribe to "heternormative" standards and beliefs -- soon be labelled deficient, deviant, or sick by the American Psychological Association? (Note they say there is a "clinical defnition" of "homophobia"!)

Maybe you're already seeing this sort of nonsense in your company. Where do you fall on the homophobia scale? How "homophobic is your attitude? (How is this measured?) Even if you've "achieved" the acceptance level, that's not good enough -- it's still "homophobic"! And if you object to playing this twisted game, will you be fired?

In a clinical sense, homophobia is defined as an intense, irrational fear of same sex relations that becomes overwhelming to the person. In common usage, homophobia is the fear of intimate relationships with persons of the same sex. Below are listed four negative homophobic levels and four positive levels of attitudes towards lesbian and gay relationships/people. They were developed by Dr. Dorothy Riddle, a psychologist from Tucson, Arizona.

HOMOPHOBIC LEVELS OF ATTITUDE
1. Repulsion: Homosexuality is seen as a "crime against nature". Gay/lesbians are sick, crazy, immoral, sinful, wicked, etc. Anything is justified to change them: prison, hospitalization, negative behavior therapy, electroshock therapy, etc.

2. Pity: Heterosexual chauvinism. Heterosexuality is more mature and certainly to be preferred. Any possibility of "becoming straight" should be reinforced, and those who seem to be born "that way" should be pitied, "the poor dears".

3. Tolerance: Homosexuality is just a phase of adolescent development that many people go through and most people "grow out of". Thus, lesbians/gays are less mature than "straights" and should be treated with the protectiveness and indulgence one uses with a child. Lesbians/gays should not be given positions of authority because they are still working through their adolescent behavior.

4. Acceptance: Still implies there is something to accept. Characterized by such statements as "You're not a lesbian to me, you're a person!" or "What you do in bed is your own business," or "That's fine with me as long as you don't flaunt it!"

POSITIVE LEVELS OF ATTITUDES

1. Support: The basic ACLU position. Work to safeguard the rights of lesbians and gays. People at this level may be uncomfortable themselves, but they are aware of the homophobic climate and the irrational unfairness.

2. Admiration: Acknowledges that being lesbian/gay in our society takes strength. People at this level are willing to truly examine their homophobic attitudes, values, and behaviors.

3. Appreciation: Value the diversity of people and see lesbian/gays as a valid part of that diversity. These people are willing to combat homophobia in themselves and others.

4. Nurturance: Assumes that gay/lesbian people are indispensable in our society. They view lesbians/gays with genuine affection and delight, and are willing to be allies and advocates.

Emotional Appeals and More Lies

The queer activists knew they'd have to win their fight dishonestly, and avoid the ugly truth about the unnaturalness and riskiness of homosexual sex, or the unbalanced life experience that same-sex parenting imparts to young children.

They knew to frame their demands as a "right" -- because once recognized, a "right" can't be taken away. (Why, you might even get "pro-family" groups to agree with this concept!) As if anyone has a "right" to sodomitic "marriages"; or his employer paying for a sex-change operation; or cross-dressing on the job (a.k.a. "sexual expression"); or demanding a lease for an apartment owned by a landlord with moral objections; or public displays of lewdness; or spreading lies to schoolchildren.

And they knew to troop before legislators as happy "married" couples and "families", asking how the legislator could even conceive of taking away their happiness, of breaking up their family! And claim over and over that nothing has really changed since "gay marriages" began; everything is still perfectly lovely.

Here's how the queer activists won over unthinking legislators (Raphael Lewis, Boston Globe, 9-12-05):

Lawmakers said the change in position developed as they found that the onset of same-sex marriages did little to alter the fabric of life in the Bay State. Gay-rights groups also staged a months-long campaign to win over skeptical legislators by arranging meetings with same-sex couples to discuss their lives.

State Senator James E. Timilty, a Walpole Democrat who campaigned last year in favor of the proposed constitutional amendment, said the meetings were crucial to altering his position because they converted abstract moral arguments into tangible reality.

''At many of these meetings, when I would look at the children of these couples and see that they deserved all of the benefits that I had certainly growing up in a family, the principles of fairness changed my mind and I decided that a no vote was the correct vote," Timilty said.

Over the past few months, 43 lawmakers who favored the proposed constitutional amendment met with same-sex couples, their friends, and their clergy, according to Marty Rouse, campaign director for MassEquality, which spearheaded the campaign.

The meetings appear to have achieved their desired effect. By Friday, legislators' internal polling revealed that at least eight House lawmakers and at least two senators who last year voted for the amendment sponsored by Senate President Robert E. Travaglini and Senate Republican Leader Brian P. Lees have decided to switch their votes.

Boston Globe columnist Adrian Walker writes:

The idea of gay marriage going before voters is anathema to proponents, and understandably so. No one would want to fight three more long years to defend a right that's already been won.

And how did they "win" this "right"? Through an illegitimate, unconstitutional court ruling. Do courts grant rights?

When the Legislature last visited this issue, there was concern that it was a political hot potato. That anxiety has evaporated on Beacon Hill, as many voters seem to regard the issue with relative indifference. It just doesn't directly affect as many lives as, say, healthcare reform.

We're seeing this statement again and again, twice in one day in the Globe: that life has changed little since homosexual "marriages" began. What world are these people observing?

Isn't it a big change to insist on teaching all our schoolchildren about unhealthy, perverted sex and homosexual-headed families because "gay marriage is legal now"? And to tell parents they can't stop it? To enlist our children -- often without parental knowledge -- in a sad, debilitating and unhealthy lifestyle akin to other addictions? To go on to tell them sex-change operations might be the solution to their adolescent angst? To sentence them to family-less, childless futures?

We keep reading, "No earthquakes occurred in Massachusetts after homosexual marriage." Have these legislators heard about the father arrested in Lexington, denied his parental rights under state law? The Little Black Book? The sex-change propaganda disseminated through the gay clubs in our high schools? The pornographic "gay" billboard on Mass. Ave. in Cambridge? The filthy Bay Windows newspapers in our family-neighborhood supermarkets?

Our society will be profoundly affected in ways we can't even imagine yet.

These shortsighted legislators are "thinking" through their emotions and have their heads in the sand. And the big media are right there with them.

Queer Activist Intimidation Tactics

We have many friends supporting the VoteOnMarriage marriage petition, and we are disgusted to see the intimidation tactics queer activists are using against the original signers of the petition. The Boston Herald (whose side are they on?) and their _itchy columnist Margery Eagan (clearly modeling herself on the despicable Maureen Dowd) deemed it newsworthy that a website has been set up to publicize the identity of anyone who dares to sign the petition. (We won't go into our reservations about this amendment here.)

The website is called KnowThyNeighbor. It has been denounced by the "more responsible" leaders of the queer movement at MassEquality.

Our friend Viktor has made an interesting observation. In line with the queer activists' other phony readings of the Bible ("God loves everyone and everything they could possibly do!"), this website seems to be trying to imply a Biblical source for their name:

It seems there is a bizarre theme occurring in the homosexualist movement: an admission of the spiritually decrepit state they have fallen into. Some simple examples are the "Southern Decadence" celebration in New Orleans, or the gay nightclub "Purgatory" in Providence, RI. The latest intimidation tactic of the gays reveals this theme in its most disturbing form yet.

We've read about the "unclean" VoteOnMarriage amendment which would legitimize SOME same-sex "marriages". We now see the homosexualists' reaction to it at
KnowThyNeighbor.org, the website which seeks to publish, intimidate, and harass those who sign the amendment.

(If you think there is no intimidation from the homosexualists because they are all about "love", think again. Remember some months ago the failed bill that would make the names of petition signers available sooner than currently allowed by law. This bill was supported by homosexual activist organizations, and had it been passed, would have made "it possible for groups opposing ballot questions to gain almost immediate access to the names and addresses of the people who signed the petitions, providing them an opportunity to persuade signatories to retract their support." "Persuade signatories'"? Please.)

The name "know thy neighbor" seems to be a reference to a Bible passage.... But a quick search on
Bible.com reveals the aforementioned theme. For starters, the Old English "thy" is obviously not found in modern-day translations, but rather in the King James Version. There is no such phrase as "know thy neighbor" anywhere in the King James Bible. It combines two separate things: 1. To "know" someone; and 2. that particular someone being "thy neighbor".

The word "know"in the Bible is usually a reference to a thing: Thy name, thy ways, thy testimonies, Thy commandments, etc. And when it is referring to a someone, that someone is usually knowing God. The ONLY time "knowing" another person is employed (not knowing another person's traits or qualities, but knowing another person period), it means knowing someone sexually (for example, in Luke 1 where Mary says to the angel, "How can this be, for I do not know a man?") The only time "knowing" was used in the plural was used by -- yep, you guessed it -- the Sodomites, featured in the Genesis story of Sodom and Gommorah.

Genesis 19: 1-5
1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; 2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. 3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. 4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

Canada Killing Free Speech on Homosexuality

MassResistance has written before about the dangers of criminalizing dissent on the homosexual agenda. Because homosexual radicals have confused the public and legislators by arguing that their demands are all about "rights", they can next insist that anyone who has an objection to their behaviors and claims must be silenced.

Canada is leading the way down this totalitarian path with its "Human Rights Commission". This is thought control, under the guise of anti-discrimination and "hate-speech" laws. Free speech is being eliminated on this issue. And other issues will surely follow, if they get away with this!

Now in Alberta, a pastor who wrote that homosexuality is immoral and a health risk is being accused of hate speech, and dragged before the Human Rights Commission. It's coming our way soon! From LifeSite News:

[Rev. Stephen] Boissoin is being hauled before the Human Rights Commission to answer to a complaint filed by Darren Lund, an assistant professor at the University of Calgary. Lund made his complaint after Boissoin published a letter to the editor in the Red Deer Advocate, in which he denounced homosexuality as immoral and dangerous, and called into question new gay-rights curriculums permeating the province’s educational system.

In that letter to the editor, Boisson lamented that “Children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.”

Boissoin, who is himself no stranger to the dangers of homosexual and bi-sexual activity, since many of the youth he works with fall into that category, repeatedly expressed his concern that behaviour that is dangerous, and sometimes fatal, is being presented as normative and even healthy to the most impressionable. “I was just writing a letter to the editor, to the heterosexual population,” he says, “saying this is something to be very, very concerned about.”
